Astrid van der Looij has a Masters Degree in Human Geography of Developing Areas from the Radboud University in Nijmegen, followed by a certification diploma in Human Resources Management from Hogeschool Arnhem Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She brings more than 15 years of (international) working experience as a HRM, Organizational Development & HRD professional. Her experience consists of project management, coaching and HRM training as well as operational, strategic and capacity building services in Africa, Asia and Australia.
Astrid characterizes best as service & business oriented, pro-active, knowledgeable, pragmatic, enthusiastic, cultural sensitive and keen at building HRM capacities. From her childhood she is interested in the life and work of people in different cultural settings. In 2000 she traveled through Africa and decided she wanted to live and work there. After the birth of her first son in 2002, she moved with her family to Harare, Zimbabwe. Later she moved to Ulan Bator in Mongolia, and to Queensland, Australia. Since 2011 Astrid and her family live in The Netherlands again.
